Billow Crest Cowl A double thickness colourwork cowl using mosaic knitting.

Is there anything more luxurious than a double thickness cowl that is wrapped twice around your neck for warmth?

The Billow Crest cowl is knitted using 2 skeins each of Kitten Fluff and Angry Monkey in Nua. This cowl uses the wonderful mosaic knitting technique to create its colourwork. This allows you to create this wonderful spiral while never knitting with more than one colour. It’s a bit like magic really! But how?

It looks like stranded colourwork but you are only ever working a single colour in each round. To create the 2-clour effect you slip the colours that are in a different colour, allowing them to be pulled up to the next row. This allows you to take your colourwork to the next level!

You can purchase this pattern on Ravelry here or on Stolenstitches.com and if you would like a gorgeous yarn kit including those organic project bags, you can nab one of them here! I’m still in a bit of a grellow phase and I think this would be gorgeous in Rolling Bales and Bare Necessities. What do you think?
